Location: Exeter basedWe are seeking a Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible to join our highly regarded teaching staff within our Trust. We are looking for someone with relevant experience of working with children, who is enthusiastic about supporting and educating primary aged children. You will work alongside the class teachers to support children in all areas of the curriculum and to also assist in the preparation of the learning environment, liaising with staff, maintaining pupil records, and carrying out a range of administrative tasks to support the teacher. You will also be involved in supporting children at break and lunch times in setting up our play provision or helping with the family dining arrangements in the school hall. As a teaching assistant you will have the exciting role of supporting children in learning to read, leading PE and Games sessions, going on school trips and residentials and taking responsibility for the mentoring and tutoring of individual children. We provide a full programme of extra-curricular activities, outdoor learning programmes, sporting squads and teams, dedicated art and science rooms, a library service and 1:1 digital devices for every pupil.You will also be involved in leading playtime activities with children and supporting within the family dining service where older children serve young children each lunch time.As well as the regular school day (9am to 3:30pm), we are looking for additional support with our breakfast club (8:00am to 9am) and/or after school club provision (3:30pm until 5pm). We also run a holiday club each school holiday period (except Christmas) which currently requires additional staff.We have vacancies in both KS1 and KS2, and a choice of term time only (40 weeks a year) or all year round working available.The salary will normally, commence at a full time equivalent of £22,100 (based on 37 hour week and all year working), with the ability to progress through the pay scale. We regularly have many ongoing building improvement projects, where good construction skills are required, such as general building, carpentry, or plumbing skills. Examples of the types of projects you might be involved in include construction of fences, hanging doors, laying a concrete foundation, erecting a shed, refurbishment of classrooms, installing kitchen units and appliances.The successful candidate will also be involved in ongoing site maintenance requirements which might include cutting grass, landscaping, painting, and decorating, site security and premises lock up, managing lettings and responding to alarm call outs. Would you like to take the lead in training a new generation to survey for bats, dormice and hedgehogs?Devon Wildlife Consultants (DWC) is the commercial arm of Devon Wildlife Trust (DWT), Devon’s leading wildlife conservation charity. Profits from the company are donated to Devon Wildlife Trust to help deliver its extensive programme of conservation, learning and engagement activities. DWC are looking for a Landscape Survey Coordinator to join our friendly and close-knit commercial consultancy team and to lead the delivery of a new project.DWC are involved in a project called ‘Connecting People and Landscapes’ which is being led by the Bat Conservation Trust and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. This is a new role required to deliver the project and will involve planning and coordinating surveys, training junior staff and liaising with project partners, landowners and community groups. There will be a focus on surveying for the target species of the project; seven bat species, dormice and hedgehogs.The Connecting People and Landscapes project will utilise previously untapped species data to identify areas of pressure and potential expansion that will target areas for focussed species interventions. We will work with land managers leading in the field of regenerative agriculture to share and develop best practice and transfer knowledge across regional clusters to deliver habitat that will benefit people and nature, as well as train a new and more diverse generation in sustainable farming methods and ecological surveying.This is a partnership project being led by Bat Conservation Trust (BCT), project partners are: Devon Communities Together (DCT), Devon Wildlife Trust (DWT) (with contractors Devon Wildlife Consultants (DWC)), East Devon National Landscape, Knepp Estate, South Devon National Landscape (SDNL) and University of Exeter (UoE).
