East-the-Water Primary is looking for a Year 1 teacher to join our team from September 2026.
This post is fixed term, dependent upon Reception class numbers - nationally falling roll.
This is a flexible post. We are open to appointing for 2, 3 or 5 days per week, either as part of a job-share or with sole responsibility for the class, depending on the right candidate and working pattern.
We are a maintained school with a clear sense of direction and the freedom to act on it. We make thoughtful decisions about curriculum, training and school improvement, work with carefully chosen national experts and lead initial teacher training. Decisions are made close to the classroom, by people who know the children and understand the work.
Our leadership team and specialists are in the building, working alongside teachers in practical, day-to-day ways. Support is close, useful and rooted in real classrooms.
Year 1 is a crucial year. We are looking for someone who can build confidence, independence, strong routines and a love of learning. Someone who teaches carefully, notices children closely and wants to keep improving.
