Vacancy at Discovery College (YMCA Plymouth), Honicknowle Lane, Plymouth
YMCA Plymouth currently requires a part time teaching assistant to work with students in its ‘Discovery College’.
The post is within school hours and is a term time only post. A 3-month probationary period will apply.
The post is 22.5 hours per week Wednesday & Thursday (essential), and Tuesday (negotiable). Hours are between 08:00 - 16:00 The full-time salary is £24,784 per annum (Full time), Part time for this post £14,870.70 per annum
This is a fixed term contract post of 1 year starting in September/October 2026. The contract can be extended or made permanent in the future.
The role is an integral part of the College. The successful applicant will work both independently and under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff undertaking work/care/support to enable students’ better access to learning and to assist the teacher in the management of students in the classroom. In addition, caring for the health needs and well-being of students whilst under their supervision.
The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check, and two satisfactory references will also be required.
