- Mid Devon, Somerset, Devon
- Multiple Terms
- MPS

Are you looking for a teaching role where you can genuinely make a difference every single day?
Do you value small class sizes, strong relationships and being part of a supportive and committed team?
We are delighted to offer a unique opportunity for enthusiastic and dedicated teachers to join Webbers and Burlescombe Church of England Primary Schools, two small and welcoming village schools set in the beautiful rural landscape of Mid Devon.
This is an especially exciting time to join us. The schools will be transferring to The Academies for Character and Excellence (ACE) at the end of the summer term, and this recruitment is being undertaken in partnership with Alumnis. This transition brings a wealth of opportunity. ACE is a Trust deeply committed to providing an exceptional education for every child, underpinned by a strong belief in equity, collaboration, and uncompromising excellence. Their approach goes beyond the classroom, placing real emphasis on character education, personal development, and ensuring that every pupil and every member of staff is supported to thrive.
ACE is passionate about delivering a rich, innovative curriculum and a highly collaborative way of working. Through its strong network of schools and professional communities, staff are given genuine opportunities to develop, share expertise, and flourish within their own field. A deep commitment to equity ensures that every child, and every member of staff, has access to meaningful opportunities for growth, with a clear focus on tackling disadvantage and providing bespoke professional learning.
Both schools provide nurturing environments where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to flourish. Burlescombe School is organised into two mixed-age classes, spanning Reception to Year 6, while Webbers School has three classes. The mixed-age structure is a real strength, offering a rich and rewarding teaching experience supported by very small class sizes, enabling you to build strong relationships and tailor learning to each individual child.
We are seeking to appoint:
• Two full-time Class Teachers
o One in Key Stage 1 (KS1)
o One in Key Stage 2 (KS2)
o Based at either Webbers or Burlescombe, depending on experience and school needs
• One part-time Class Teacher (0.4 FTE)
o Monday and Tuesday
o Based at Webbers School in KS1
These roles are open to Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and those on the Main Pay Scale. The successful candidates will inspire a love of learning, build positive and lasting relationships with pupils and families, and ensure that every child achieves their very best. You will be a reflective and skilled classroom practitioner with high expectations for all learners, a commitment to inclusion, and the ability to work collaboratively within a small, dedicated team. You will also embrace and contribute to the Christian ethos and values that underpin our schools.
In return, we offer the opportunity to teach in a setting where small class sizes make a genuine difference, allowing for personalised learning and meaningful connections. You will be part of a warm, caring, and supportive school community, working with enthusiastic, well-behaved children who enjoy learning. Alongside this, you will benefit from being part of The Academies for Character and Excellence, with access to high-quality professional development, collaboration across a wider network of schools, and opportunities to grow and flourish in your career.
Visits to the schools are warmly encouraged, as we would love you to experience first-hand what makes Webbers and Burlescombe such special places to work and learn. To arrange a visit, please contact the school on 01823 672521 or 01823 672510.
Join us at a pivotal and exciting moment of change, and become part of a community where you can truly make a lasting impact.
