Ideal candidates would have experience leading on planning policy projects and studies, would be a member of the RTPI and have a good knowledge of current planning issues, particularly those facing urban areas with a high-quality growth agenda.
About the role:
As a project manager (senior planning officer) in the planning policy team you would be directly helping to shape the future of Exeter. This varied role would lead on specific projects and studies (for particular areas or topics), in particular helping us move our new local plan towards adoption. Work would include undertaking research, commissioning studies, assessing data, engaging with the public and other organisations and working with developers.
About the team:
Progressing our new local plan, the Exeter Plan, towards adoption, we will be delivering on the city’s exciting, high quality growth agenda, enhancing the city’s outstanding natural and historic environment, achieving net zero carbon and regenerating important brownfield sites. We are a small team of dedicated and friendly planning policy and monitoring officers who sit alongside our development management team within the City Development service.
Essential requirements:
- A degree (or equivalent) in either Town and Country Planning or a relevant related discipline.
- Minimum of two years’ post qualification experience of planning policy work in the public or private sector.
