About the Role
The Family Intervention Team works as a specialist county-wide service with families with children 0-18 as a ‘family help’ service across Devon. A voluntary and consensual service from a strong family led aspect, FIT works within an assessment, plan, intervene and review cycle. We deliver a bespoke intervention package working with them, to help them stay safe and reduce the risks of family breakdown and prevent escalation to statutory services.
The Family Intervention Team has developed and grown over the last 2 years. Going forward, we hope to develop the service to offer increased flexibility by contributing to an extended hours service, utilising a rota system across 7 days and until 10 pm at night. While this is not currently in place, candidates should expect for this to be part of service delivery in the future to contribute to the support offer for children and families in Devon.
Working in one of 9 locality based teams, the Practice Supervisor works collaboratively with colleagues and in partnership with families, to achieve sustained change.
The Practice Supervisor will act as a case holder and beacon of good practice for the most complex cases. They will also, alongside the Team Manager, supervise a team of practitioners to ensure that services are delivered to children, young people, and their families/carers in accordance with best practice and policy and protocols.
About You
The Family Intervention Team is a fast paced, busy environment. Experience of working with complex families is essential as the Practice Supervisor with have a small caseload of the most complex cases, being seen as a beacon of best practice experience in the team. The role also involves the line management and supervision Family Practitioners. The ability to adapt, be dynamic and respond to changeable demand is important.
You will hold a level 4 or 5 qualification in a relevant field and have experience of staff supervision.
