Biosphere Communities Project – North Devon
12 month contract, 13 hours per fortnight, £13 per hour plus travel expenses
Start Date: ideally early November or soon after depending on successful candidate’s availability
We’re looking for a creative, motivated content creator to help bring the North Devon Biosphere to life online — showcasing exciting projects, opportunities, and real-world action happening across our communities.
- Help tell the story of nature, climate action, and green careers across North Devon.
- Take your first steps into content creation and work in comms.
About the role
You’ll work with Earth Action North Devon and a wide network of partners to:
- Create engaging social media content (video, reels, stories, posts)
- Highlight events, activities, and opportunities across the Biosphere, particularly about the Biosphere Communities project
- Inspire people — especially younger audiences — to take part in climate action and nature recovery
- Showcase green careers and pathways, helping others see what’s possible locally
- Contribute to a growing, inclusive and authentic voice for the Biosphere online
This is a flexible, creative role with space to shape your own style and approach.
Management and support
The successful candidate will be employed by the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere and be seconded to the Communications Manager of Earth Action North Devon, with support from the wider Biosphere Communities Project team as appropriate. The Biosphere Communities Project will provide a mobile device for you to record content onto, and a laptop for work purposes.

- Have an interest in storytelling, or content creation
- Have some knowledge of social media (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or similar)
- Care about nature, climate, community, or making a positive difference
- Can create content that feels authentic and engaging
- Are interested in connecting with local people, projects, and opportunities
- Are curious about future pathways, including green careers
- Are happy to attend events and capture moments “in the field”
- Can transport yourself either via public transport or personal vehicle
You might already be creating content — or just starting out and keen to learn.

Flexible working pattern – We want this to fit around your life. You will be required to complete 13 hours per fortnight.
Probationary period – 2 months
Contract length – 1 year

- Out and about across North Devon capturing footage, photos and stories
- Flexibility to also work from home
