Flood & Coastal Risk Management Support Officer
Join our Flood & Coastal Risk Management Team as a Support Officer and help us protect communities from flood risk and increase resilience.
About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated and organised individual to provide essential administrative support to our Flood & Coastal Risk Management Team. You’ll play a key role in helping us manage planning and land drainage consent applications, maintain data systems, and support community engagement events. There may also be opportunities to help support the wider Environmental Sustainability Group and gain useful knowledge and experience in these areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Log planning and Land Drainage Consent applications
- Manage team mailbox and update website
- Field calls from the public and partner authorities
- Assist with external events (e.g., Exe Estuary Partnership)
- Provide admin support across the team
- Collate information during and after flood events
What We’re Looking For
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good IT skills and experience with databases
- Interest in flood risk and environmental sustainability (desirable)
Working Arrangements
Regular office presence at County Hall, Exeter, with flexible and home-working options available. Part time hours or job share arrangements may be considered.
