From the 1st November 2024 you can register as a ‘childminder without domestic premises’ which is a childminder who works solely from somewhere other than a home, like a community or village hall.
Preparing to be a Childminder course:
The Early Years and Childcare Service run a "Preparing to be a Childminder" course which provides you with the skills and knowledge to start your new career as a childminder, including setting yourself up as a business.
The training will consist of a 4 hour virtual session (delivered through Microsoft Teams). You only need to attend one of the following dates:
Dates:
- Friday 23rd January 2026 (9.30am - 1.30pm) - Microsoft Teams
- Saturday 7th March 2026 (10am – 2pm) - Microsoft Teams
We also run the course as an eLearning only course.
Course cost: £25.
