Home-Start is one of the UK’s leading family support charities. Our ethos is to help parents build better lives and better futures for their children; we do this by recruiting and training local parent volunteers to offer practical and emotional support to families in their own homes.
Following the fantastic news that we have been successful in securing funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, an exciting opportunity has arisen to work for Home-Start Exeter, East and Mid Devon. If you share our passion and have experience of leading volunteers, understand the needs of families with young children, understand parents and want to help them give their children the best possible start in life, then we want to hear from you.
We are looking for a Co-ordinator covering Torridge and North Devon, responsible for recruiting, training, supervising, and supporting a team of volunteers, and working with families within a multi-agency environment.
The position is part time (18 hours a week), salary £13,912.54 (£28,598 FTE).
The role comes with the flexibility of working from home, as well as making regular visits to families and volunteers in their own homes, and the use of desk space at the Family Hubs.
Use of your own car is required, for which mileage allowance is paid.
Home-Start is committed to safer recruitment practice as an important part of protecting children and vulnerable adults, and therefore the post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced criminal records check (DBS).
Induction and relevant training are provided, regular supervision, 32 days annual leave entitlement for full time staff (including bank holidays), pro rata for part time, and automatic access to an occupational pension.
