We are looking for Experienced Social Workers who are passionate about improving the lives of children and families across North & Mid Devon.
Our Children & Families Service offers a dynamic and rewarding environment where you can make a real difference to some of the most vulnerable children and their families.
Based at either Barnstaple or Tiverton, we use restorative practice to support and safeguard children in need throughout North & Mid Devon. Through the management of legal proceedings and care arrangements, our experienced and skilled teams work positively with children and their families to build strong, trusting relationships - identifying strengths to reach long-term, positive outcomes.

About the Role
As an Experienced Social Worker, you will work in partnership with families and professionals, empowering children and their carers. You will model high standards of professional practice and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Casework will be varied and challenging, requiring you to think creatively and work collaboratively to promote positive, long-term change for children and families.
You will understand the importance of delivering high-quality assessments to ensure consistent, improved outcomes for children, young people, families, and carers. Your expertise and commitment will help shape a safer, healthier, and happier future for those we support.
Skills and Experience
- Knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to children’s social work
- The ability to build effective professional relationships with children, families, and other professionals
- Experience working within social care, including working in a multi-agency and court environment
- A social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
- Satisfactory completion of your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
- A high-level of written and verbal communication skills

This role is currently eligible for a retention payment of £2,000 per annum pro rata (terms & conditions apply).
