Caretaker - Burlescombe and Webber's C of E Primary Schools (Alumnis Multi Academy Trust)
- Mid Devon, Somerset, Devon
- Multiple Terms
- Grade C £13.47 - £13.69 per hour

We are seeking a caring, reliable and proactive Caretaker to join our team and support the school communities at Webbers Church of England Primary School and Burlescombe Church of England Primary School.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who takes pride in creating safe, welcoming and well-maintained environments for children and staff. The successful candidate will work across the two schools, helping to ensure that the school sites are safe, secure, clean and well maintained, and that they provide an environment where children can learn and thrive.
The role will be approximately 20 hours per week in total, with around 10 hours allocated to each school. The successful candidate will need to be organised and flexible, able to work independently across different sites and confident in responding to the varying needs of each school.
We are looking for someone who is practical, dependable and takes pride in their work. You will be responsible for carrying out a range of general caretaking and site duties, including routine maintenance, ensuring the security of the premises, responding to minor repairs and maintenance issues, and supporting the schools in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
You will work closely with the Headteacher, responding to their priorities and helping to ensure that any site issues are identified and addressed promptly. The ability to manage your own workload, prioritise tasks and communicate effectively will be important.
This is an exciting time to join our schools as they continue to develop and improve. Webber’s and Burlescombe are welcoming rural schools where strong relationships, community and the wellbeing of children are at the heart of school life. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a real contribution to the day-to-day running of three schools and to the experience of the children, families and staff within them.
In return, we can offer the opportunity to work across two supportive school communities, with friendly and committed staff teams and the chance to play an important role in ensuring our schools remain safe, secure and welcoming places to learn and work.
Visits to the schools are warmly encouraged. To arrange a visit or for further information, please contact the schools directly.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and satisfactory references.
