The Devon Moors Federation is an eight school federation. It consists of Clyst Hydon, Copplestone, Filleigh, Kilmington, Lympstone, Shute, Spreyton & Upottery Primary Schools. We are also part of the United Schools Learning Partnership Co-Operative Trust that we joined in February 2018.
Spreyton School is a small, friendly primary school with lovely children and a supportive staff with a huge range of expertise. We prioritise the well-being of our children and staff, making it a nurturing and enjoyable place to work.
We have two vacancies available and we welcome applicants applying for both positions. Applications are welcome from both experienced and less experienced Teaching Assistant's.
Position 1: We are seeking an After School Club Co-ordinator to run the club at Spreyton Primary School, ideally to start on Tuesday 21st April 2026. This is a fixed term position due to external funding of an unknown duration. You will be responsible for running the after-school club 2 days a week on Monday & Tuesday from 3.15pm until 5pm, during term time only. You will follow a timetable of activities agreed with the Head of School and will be responsible for setting up and packing away before and after the club. You will be motivated, enthusiastic and able to communicate well with children and parents.
Position 2: We are looking to appoint a 1:1 TA to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team for the start of the Summer Term on Tuesday 21st April 2026. We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic teaching assistant to work 1 to 1 with a child in Key Stage One with SEN requirements. The hours are 9 hours per week to be worked across three afternoons (Monday to Wednesday) and will include lunchtime cover. You will be required to provide support both in and out of the classroom environment. You must have a passion for helping children learn and develop, be able to build good relationships and have good literacy, numeracy and communication skills. Experience of working with children with autism would be an advantage but is not essential.
This is a fixed post linked to the SEND funding for a child in the school. The post is linked to the continued attendance of the child and their continued funding to meet the SEND needs.
A qualification in paediatric first aid is desirable but not essential as the relevant training will be provided if necessary.
