Learn Devon are seeking an experienced and dynamic Maths tutor to work with adult learners. You must hold a teaching qualification and a level 4 Maths qualification, be confident with digital skills, be familiar with the OFSTED common inspection framework and have had experience delivering functional skills.

Would you like the opportunity to be a part of a pilot project for Learn Devon? We are looking to develop a fast track approach to Maths learning to enable learners to gain functional skills qualifications more quickly in order to move on into employment or further training. The programme will consist of drop in sessions running 5 mornings per week and learners will attend a minimum of 2 per week (and can attend all 5). Learning will use online materials and the tutor is present to support and advise learners and direct them to appropriate resources.

If you are enthusiastic about adult learning, able to inspire and challenge learners, offer differentiated learning and are comfortable using a digital approach to learning then this may be the post for you. If you are also able to offer English teaching then this would be an advantage

This post is based in Tavistock, however there is the expectation that the postholder will travel to other centres and venues around West Devon. There is some evening and weekend work.

This is a fixed term contract of 9 months and teaching will continue through school holidays. It is an annualised hours contract and 700 hours equates to approximately 13 hours per week.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This role requires a DBS disclosure.

This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
