For this role: You will work within the Waste & Cleansing team as a Light Vehicle Mechanic and MOT tester. The team’s work is crucial to efficiently delivering the Council’s waste, recycling and street cleansing services and supporting fleet management.
What you'll be doing: You will be helping to maintain, repair and inspect plant and vehicles, including specialised refuse, recycling and street cleansing equipment. You will also carry out MOTs and Hackney tests on Private and Teignbridge licensed vehicles.
Who we're looking for: You will be able to demonstrate you have good communication, problem solving and customer relation skills.
Experience and knowledge of refuse & cleansing vehicle operations and computer literacy is desirable; however, training will be provided to the successful candidate if necessary.
The successful candidate will need a recognised automotive engineering qualification gained through a three-year apprenticeship, City & Guilds or NVQ as well as a current MOT testing license.
