Young People’s Mental Health Care Coordinator - HeadsUP Mental Health Awareness
- Multiple Locations
- Multiple Terms
- £24,500 pro rata, per annum

Fixed term from 1st September 2025 to 31st July 2026
Young People’s Mental Health is a significant issue in our local community. The availability of services for this group is such that many children and their families are struggling to cope. This has a massive detrimental effect on the child’s future prospects, the wellbeing of the family unit as well as the community.
This service is designed to address the topic and impact of mental health before it becomes an issue. By increasing awareness of mental health issues in young people and giving them the skills to discuss any problems they are having, this programme intends to support children and young people avoid arriving at crisis point, to be more resilient and to seek assistance early.
Part of the role is designed to look at the area of physical activity and its positive impact on our mental health. You would be delivering sessions jointly with an instructor from the Leisure East Devon Community Team to small groups of children and young people, to help them understand the benefits of physical activity on our body and mind.
You will be sufficiently confident to manage your own workload efficiently and effectively on a daily basis, be solutions-focused and have a “can-do” proactive approach. The role requires somebody with a passion for physical activity and an interest in how this benefits the body and mind.
