Are you passionate about helping young people and adults build essential numeracy skills and achieve their educational goals? Learn Devon is looking for a dedicated and experienced Maths Tutor to join our dynamic Skills and Development Team. In this role, you’ll deliver engaging and impactful maths teaching to adult learners across Devon, both in-person and online.
This is your chance to make a meaningful difference in learners’ lives by supporting their journey toward greater confidence and opportunity through maths. Skills, knowledge and experience in teaching Digital Skills at engagement level and up to L1 is desirable.
About the Role
As a Maths Tutor, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences in Functional Skills Maths and other numeracy-focused programmes, from Entry Level to GCSE. You’ll work with a broad demographic of learners in a variety of settings, including face-to-face sessions, online classes, and small group tutorials.
This is a flexible, full-time role with negotiable hours to suit your availability. You’ll be based in Devon, with some travel required across the county. (Part-time applications are also welcome.)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver inclusive and engaging maths sessions both in-person and online.
- Teach a range of levels, from Entry Level to Level 2 Functional Skills, and GCSE
- Use digital tools such as Google Classroom to support blended learning.
- Design creative and relevant lesson plans tailored to our learners.
- Conduct initial assessments and track learner progress using digital platforms.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to help learners achieve their goals.
- Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure a collaborative learning experience.
- Contribute to the development of maths resources and CPD for colleagues.
- Maintain accurate and timely learner records in line with quality standards.

We expect you to be committed to your professional growth, available for some evening and weekend sessions, and able to travel across the county as needed.
