Join Learn Devon as an Early Years Tutor/Assessor
Are you passionate about supporting learners in the Early Years and Education sector? Learn Devon is seeking a dedicated and experienced Tutor/Assessor to join our Skills and Development Team. As part of our team, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional teaching experiences to our learners, both in-person and online, and guiding Higher Level Learning Support Assistants.

About the Role
As a Tutor/Assessor, you will deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment for Early Years qualifications at Levels 2 and 3. You will work with adult learners in a variety of settings, including face-to-face visits, online sessions, and group tutorials.
This is a full-time, flexible role, with hours negotiable to suit your availability. You will be based in Devon, with some travel required across the county. (part time will be considered)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inclusive teaching sessions both in-person and online.
- Teaching a range of levels, from entry to level 2.
- Conducting inclusive sessions that leverage Google Classroom for online learning.
- Crafting innovative and engaging lessons with up-to-date, relevant materials.
- Conduct workplace observations and gather evidence to support learner progress.
- Plan and carry out initial assessments, reviews, and progress tracking using digital platforms.
- Liaise closely with employers and mentors to ensure a collaborative approach to learning.
- Design and deliver CPD training for internal staff where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely learner records.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who is enthusiastic about adult education and committed to supporting learners to achieve their goals. The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Supporting Teaching and Learning.
- A recognised assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA, CAVA, A1).
- A teaching qualification at Level 4 or above (or willingness to work towards Level 5).
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a flexible diary.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

We expect you to be committed to your professional growth, available for some evening and weekend sessions, and able to travel across the county as needed.
