We have two fixed term contract or secondment vacancies: one 18-month contract and one 24-month contract.
We are looking for someone to co-ordinate the management, use and maintenance of temporary accommodation used by Teignbridge District Council. You will directly manage units of temporary accommodation in Council owned property, such as Albany House and Luscombe Terrace. You will be required to monitor, control and ensure cost efficiency through appropriate placements and timely moves within temporary accommodation.
You will be expected to work from Forde House and satellite offices in Newton Abbot and Dawlish. You will also have regular business travel to other sites and properties managed within the district of Teignbridge.

The ideal candidate will:
• Have experience in property management, having worked in similar roles;
• Have knowledge of homelessness legislation;
• Have knowledge of landlord and tenant law;
• Have a wide ranging and up to date knowledge of safeguarding thresholds and support options;
• Enjoy solving problems. You love taking on difficult challenges and finding creative solutions. You don’t get flustered easily. If you don’t know the answer, you’ll dig until you find it;
• Like helping people. You are patient, level-headed and cool under pressure;
• Pay attention to details. As far as you’re concerned, anything worth doing is worth doing right, every single time. You stay focused and nothing falls through the cracks on your watch;
• Communicate clearly. You can explain just about anything to anyone, and are comfortable communicating in writing and on the phone;
