Our school has an exciting opportunity for two people to join our team as Teaching Assistants, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The posts are temporary as they are linked to SEMH Resource Base external funding which is based on specific EHCP funding for individual pupils.
You will be working in a team led by a teacher to support a small group of children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. These pupils will also have other SEND needs that will require tailored interventions and approaches.
The provision is very well resourced and includes academic and therapeutic spaces and activities. You will be supporting pupils to access mainstream provision over time.
The attributes we are looking for are:
• A calm and understanding nature;
• The ability to build good relationships with primary aged pupils;
• A passion for working with pupils with SEND;
• Working well within a team.
We can offer a supportive team, a focus on well-being, training, opportunities to develop interests and specialisms and, of course, the chance to make a positive difference to the lives of young people in our community.
We are happy to consider applications from both new and experienced Teaching Assistants. The grading will be based on previous experience and qualifications.
Please see the Person Specifications in the attached Job Descriptions for both Grade 1 and Grade 2 Teaching Assistants for the required skills and attributes.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
This role requires a DBS disclosure.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
