Ellen Tinkham School and College, Exeter, part of the Learn to Live Federation, is a Special School for children and young people aged 3 - 19 with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties.
We currently have Teaching Assistant vacancies across the school and college, to commence as soon as possible. The successful applicants will need to be flexible and willing to work across all age groups, when required.
You will support students as part of a dedicated class team. We offer a child centred curriculum and you will enable our students to access learning opportunities and to achieve their full potential both educationally and emotionally. You will help deliver pre-planned learning, care and therapy programmes in an inspiring learning environment.
Although previous experience of working with children in an educational setting is preferable, it is as important to have an interest in SEN, be positive, have enthusiasm, empathy and a willingness to learn and follow instructions.
You will have excellent communication skills, be confident using IT, be flexible and resilient.
The salary range at Grade C (based on 5 days per week, 39 weeks per year) starts at £17,499.26 rising to £18,059.74.
The working hours are Monday to Friday 9.00 – 3.30pm (30 hours and 45 minutes) to include a team meeting once a week. All positions are term time working, 39 weeks per year.

This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
