We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to predominantly work in a year 1 and 2 mixed aged class.
You should be flexible and prepared to involve yourself in all aspects of a small, friendly, rural school, including children with SEND. You should have a passion for working with children, be enthusiastic, kind and resilient, have excellent communication skills, be able to think creatively and demonstrate a positive, calm and encouraging attitude.
You should have a good standard of education with good numeracy and literacy skills. Due to the needs of the children you will be supporting, this role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
Your primary role will be to support children (working 1 to 1 and with small groups) under the guidance of the class teacher. Experience of working with children through maths and English interventions, knowledge of supporting pupils with phonics and/or speech and language is highly desirable, along with the ability to work flexibly using your own initiative, are highly desirable attributes. However, this is not essential as we can provide full training and support to the right person.
You will also be involved in supporting children at break and lunch times in setting up our play provision or helping with the dining arrangements in the school hall.
The position is to start in September 2025.
This role is approximately for 30 hours a week and is likely to include some lunchtime cover. Hours are 8.45am to 3.15pm (Monday - Friday) with some flexibility, if required, for the right candidate.
Salary: Grade B, SCP 3 - 4; £12.45 - £12.65 per hour / Grade C, SCP 5 - 7 ; £12.85 - 13.26 per hour, depending on experience Pay award pending for April 25
