An opportunity has arisen at St Michaels C of E Primary School for two enthusiastic, talented, resilient and committed persons to encourage, motivate and support individual children, starting in September 2022. School work is rewarding and satisfying with no two days the same. You will ultimately be part of a team ensuring a safe and happy learning environment for all children, but with responsibility for children who have particular needs.
Both positions will be for 5.25 hours per day during term time. These posts are of a temporary nature because they will be formally attached to specific children and when these children leave, or no longer require special provision, the funding will be withdrawn and the posts will no longer be available. The curriculum work will be prepared by the teacher and, as with all Teaching Assistant posts, you may be used in other areas of the school as and when required.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will need to be calm but firm and enjoy working with children, having a minimum qualification at GCSE Maths and English. Experience of working in a classroom situation or a qualification as a Teaching Assistant, NVQ2 or NVQ3 would be ideal. We are looking for someone who can continue to liaise and build relationships with parents and families and, therefore, good and courteous communication skills are a necessity.
If you have the appropriate skills, including patience, kindness and enthusiasm, please ensure you read the attachments below for further details and we welcome your application.
Our whole team is motivated, hard-working and dedicated and we value a new colleague who is passionate about learning, highly organised, with a great sense of humour, who will participate fully in school life. Our highly successful federation is a popular choice with children, parents and staff and our schools boast a friendly and welcoming environment.
For an informal discussion or if you have any questions relating to this position, please contact Mrs Kate Arnold, Head of School, on 01626 352854 or email@example.com.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
