Teaching Assistant - Marldon C of E Primary School

  • Multiple Locations
  • Multiple Terms
  • £9.60 - £9.79 per hour (pay award pending)

An opportunity has arisen at Marldon Primary School for an enthusiastic, talented, resilient and committed person to encourage, motivate and support a child in our Reception Class. An immediate start is available. School work is rewarding and satisfying with no two days the same.  You will ultimately be part of a team ensuring a safe and happy learning environment for all children but with responsibility for this Reception aged child who has particular needs.

The position will be for 5.25 hours per day, during term time.  This post is of a temporary nature because it is formally attached to a reception aged child and when this child leaves, or no longer requires special provision, the funding will be withdrawn and the post will no longer be available. The curriculum work will be prepared by the teacher and as with all Teaching Assistant posts you may asked to work in other areas of the school as and when required.

As a Teaching Assistant you will need to be calm but firm and enjoy working with children, having a minimum qualification at GCSE Maths and English.  Experience of working in a classroom situation or a qualification as a Teaching Assistant, NVQ2 or NVQ3 would be ideal.  We are looking for someone who can continue to liaise and build relationships with parents and families, therefore good courteous communication skills are a necessity.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
This role requires a DBS disclosure.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.

Our whole team is motivated, hard-working and dedicated and we value a new colleague who is passionate about learning, highly organised, with a great sense of humour.  Our highly successful federation is a popular choice with children, parents and staff and our schools boast a friendly and welcoming environment.

If you have the appropriate skills, including patience, kindness we would welcome your application.

Please return your completed application to applications@st-michaels-pri.devon.sch.uk by noon on the closing date.
