If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our friendly and supportive school; supporting children with additional needs. We are a caring, community school just off of the M5 on the outskirts of Exeter.
You should have a good standard of general education with good numeracy and literacy skills. You will be able to communicate effectively with children and adults; have a flexible and proactive attitude; good sense of humour; and be friendly and approachable. Due to the needs of the children you will be supporting, this role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
Your primary role will be to support children with additional needs (working 1 to 1 and with small groups) under the guidance of the class teacher. Experience of working with children, along with the ability to work flexibly using your own initiative, are highly desirable attributes. However, this is not essential as we can provide full training and support to the right person.
All applications will be considered, although previous experience working within Special Educational Needs would be an advantage.
This role is for approximately 18 hours a week and is likely to include some lunch time cover. Specific days and timings can be discussed at interview as we can offer some flexibility for the right candidate here.
