If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our friendly and supportive school; supporting children with additional needs. We are a caring, community school just off of the M5 on the outskirts of Exeter.
The post is temporary until 31 August 2024 in the first instance with a view to continue beyond this subject to funding.
This role is for approximately 24 hours, working 4 days a week, and will include 30 minutes lunch time supervision a day. Specific days and timings can be discussed at interview as we may be able to offer some flexibility for the right candidate here.
You should have a good standard of general education with good numeracy and literacy skills. You will be able to communicate effectively with children and adults, have a flexible and proactive attitude, a good sense of humour and be friendly and approachable. We are looking for someone who will help all of our pupils: Nurture and Grow Together through Resilience, Aspiration and Kindness.
Your primary role will be to support children in across Reception/KS1 (working 1 to 1 and with small groups) under the guidance of the class teacher. Experience of working with children in an educational setting, along with the ability to work flexibly using your own initiative, are highly desirable attributes. However, prior work as a teaching assistant is not essential as we can provide full training and support to the right person.
