Buckfastleigh Primary School is looking for a passionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to work in Key Stage One.  The role will involve working as part of an enthusiastic and experienced team to enrich the learning of all the children in the class. It is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a school that has excellent relationships with children and families and is at the heart of the community.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of the requirements of the KS1 curriculum and be able to work as part of a team to support children’s learning. They will work with individuals and groups at the direction of the class teacher to enable all children to reach their potential.

The successful candidates will:
• Have experience of working within a KS1 setting;

• Have high expectations for learning and behaviour;
• Have effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff, governors and parents;
• Hold an NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications/experience;
• Have experience of working or caring for children of primary school age;
• Have an understanding of child development and learning.
