Newton Poppleford Primary is a friendly and welcoming school that values its staff. We have a fantastic team, and well-being is hugely important to us. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working and dedicated individual to join our school.
This post is for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, working with a year 1 child.
You will need to have good literacy and numeracy skills, as well as the ability to motivate children to do their best. You will be patient, understanding, and responsive, and able to build positive relationships with children, while establishing consistent boundaries. A willingness to work as part of a team, as well as taking your own initiative when required, is essential. Recent training in and an understanding of supporting children’s social and emotional development and Autism would be beneficial, as would experience of working in a school environment.
The post is fixed term commencing on the 20th February and is based on current funding.
There could possibly be additional hours for a suitably qualified candidate in our After School/Breakfast Club.

This role requires a DBS disclosure.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
