Are you looking for an exciting new challenge? Are you passionate about making a real difference to the lives of children and young people with SEND?
Lampard Community School is growing and, due to this expansion, the Board of Governors and Head Teacher are now seeking to appoint enthusiastic, caring and creative Teaching Assistants to work in classes supporting the learning needs of our amazing students.
Our school is an over subscribed and thriving Special School, based in Barnstaple, North Devon. We cater for children aged 5-16 with complex SEND needs, all of whom have Communication and Interaction needs and are working significantly below age related expectations academically. All of our students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
We have an established career progression path for our TAs - so why not join our committed team of SEND practitioners? Your role will be to support students with their learning, and during mid-morning and lunch breaks. The role starts at 8.45am and finishes at 3.30pm (4pm on Tuesdays), Monday to Friday. We are committed to providing training and CPD to all staff and in developing your skills. Please apply if you are committed to improving the outcomes of pupils with SEND and in being part of a hard working and student focused professional team of staff. Previous experience and training in working with pupils with special educational needs would be desirable but not essential, as enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are the key attributes needed to be successful.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
This role requires a DBS disclosure.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
