We are seeking to appoint a Senior Class Teacher at Upton St James, a wonderful and inclusive school on a small site with a huge heart. We will offer significant leadership development with this Senior role which will involve leadership of the Early Years and a wider contribution across the school.
Upton St James is based in a Victorian school building but hold modern, nurturing values. Our strong Christian Ethos helps to create a warm, calm atmosphere, whilst priding ourselves on our high achievements. The Academy is part of the St Christopher’s Trust - a family of 19 Church and Community Schools spanning three local authorities and providing a rich network of collaboration. The Trust will build a personal package of leadership support around the right candidate and ensure that leadership progression is built into their future career.
We are looking for a rigorous practitioner to initially start in the Reception (Early Years) class with a creative flair and zest to bring learning to life for all our pupils. This is a huge opportunity to teach a wonderful group of 15 children. You will be experienced and skilful in challenging each pupil, whatever their starting point, using your strong pedagogical practice and philosophy. We will also consider teachers with other age-specialisms. With high expectations, you will be used to being proactive, as well as collaborating with others, supporting your school to improve. We are looking for the appointed teacher to hold subject leader responsibilities with experience in early reading and phonics advantageous.
