Marland Residential School is a weekly boarding school for males aged 8-16 with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs. Since September 2021 the team here and the care we provide were graded as “outstanding”. An opportunity has arisen for the ‘right’ person to take on the position of Night waking operative, a key role in our care team. You must have a keen eye for detail be resilient have the ability to support young people with complex needs, all our students have Education Health and Care Plans. You must have the confidence and ability to communicate with students in a calm and measured manner.
As Night waking/CCTV operative your main task will be to safeguard the students in the two residential buildings. You will monitor the CCTV system to make sure students remain in their rooms. At times you may be required to support a student, additional staff will be sleeping in should you require. An additional aspect of the position is to carry out external patrols ensuring the security of the buildings. There will be some record keeping tasks associated with the role.
This annualised hour post is full time term time only and involves an annual shift pattern, of Monday to Thursday nights. It does not include any weekend or school holiday working.
