We are looking for a Site Manager for our 50 acre rewilding site and retreat centre, who is proactive, pragmatic and an enthusiastic team player. The post would be perfect for someone who is interested in Embercombe’s ethos and has skills both in project management and in practical repairs. The role-holder will have experience in site management of both buildings and land and will be responsible for day-to-day repair work and maintenance across the site as well as the management of our health and safety requirements, external supply contracts, on-site facilities and related expenditure. The role holder will be able to respond and adapt to the changing needs of the organisation, while making quick and effective decisions inline with a limited budget.
Embercombe is Devon’s leading eco-retreat.
It is a place to reconnect with nature, each other and oneself.
It offers self-development programmes in nature, rewilding education and venue hire.
The site comprises of five main buildings, including kitchens, showers, tools workshop.
Yurts, caravans and cabins are accommodation for about 70 participants, volunteers and staff.
The land is 50 acres of meadow, forest, a lake, a medicine garden and its rewilding process is managed by our Rewilding Lead.
To provide a consistently excellent, and cost-effective site management service to the staff, volunteers, customers and visitors of Embercombe.
To provide a safe learning, working and living environment at Embercombe.
This role includes health and safety, maintenance planning and practical repairs, for both buildings and land.
The functioning of Embercombe site as a welcoming, well-maintained, attractive, safe and efficient place in which to work, learn and experience nature.
Delivery of a consistently good site management service within the context of a very limited budget.
The implementation of good standards of good health and safety practice in meeting regulatory and operational requirements.
