Senior Support Workers (Learning Disabilities) - Lifeworks
- Multiple Locations
- Variable Hours
- £11.36 – £11.70 per hour (plus an additional hourly night premium of £2.15 for night roles)

Location: Shinner’s Bridge, Dartington, Devon
The Role
There is no such thing as a ‘typical’ Senior Support Worker. Staff come from lots of different backgrounds, people with little or no experience but want a job that involves helping people, those who want a change of career, as well as experienced Support Workers.
The one thing that links all of them together is their desire to work with young people with learning disabilities, make their lives better and help them to learn something new or take a further step towards independence.
Our staff certainly don’t see what they do as ‘just another job’.
No two days will be the same as you will get involved in a variety of different tasks and activities whilst helping the young people to learn the skills they need to live the life they choose.
For a Senior Support Worker role (Days), the shift pattern will be 2 days on, followed by 2 days off. This will consist of either split shifts (07.00-10.00 followed by 14.30-21.30) or 12hr shifts (08.00-20.00).
For a Senior Support Worker role (Nights), the shift pattern will be 3 nights on, followed by 3 nights off. This will consist of 12hr shifts (21.30-09.30).
About You
Ideally, you will have previous experience in this sector and must hold (or currently be studying to obtain) a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
In return the organisation will support you in making care work your career, offering you an extensive induction on commencement of employment and an amazing array of training opportunities and will also work with you on your own individual development plan to help you to progress your career.
