About the Service
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the highly regarded, innovative and successful Education Safeguarding team. Working across all aspects of education from early years to post-16 within Devon and neighbouring Local Authorities, we are seeking a team member who understands the complex nature of safeguarding who can offer training, advice, and reviews to meet Devon’s statutory responsibilities alongside our ever growing and diverse traded offer. Most of all, we want to work with someone who is passionate about children and their families having the support they need to be safe, happy, and able to thrive.
About you
You will have experience in a leading safeguarding role that has given you the opportunity to apply national and local requirements including a sound understanding of safeguarding systems. You will understand the crucial role working with partners has in supporting children and their families. Delivering innovative training, including virtually that inspires all who attend will be crucial alongside being able to support and advise school leaders and wider teams and colleagues within DCC. The role will also require the successful candidate to represent education on a range of partnership sub-committees and working groups.
The successful candidate will have a bespoke induction led by those within the team and wider DCC colleagues to meet your needs. Being able to plan your own diary, including travel when needed will offer you flexibility in your day-to-day and enable you to have a positive work-life balance. Working from home is welcomed and therefore a strong understanding in how technology can be used to communicate effectively is essential. Meeting your ongoing CPD needs will also be essential in areas such as developing our coaching and mentoring work and our on-line training offer.
