We are looking for someone who just loves to be busy, genuinely wants to help colleagues, children and our parents and is extremely organised and efficient. So not much then! Appledore is a warm and friendly school that is passionate about serving its community and we want someone to join our team who is also warm, friendly and supportive of others.
The role is a blend of front-desk roles, internal administration responsibilities and support of our governing body, so no one day is ever the same. Appledore School is a busy place and staff need to be flexible and resilient (multi-tasking is a must!) and excellent communicators, on the telephone or face to face, with colleagues, children, parents and all other people you come in contact with.
The role requires an eye for administrative detail, proactive organisational skills and proven IT skills and competence. Training and support in all areas of the role will be provided by our highly experienced team and from external sources where necessary. For more information about the role, please see the job description by following the link below.
You need to:
- Have experience of administration in a busy environment;
- Be highly personable;
- Work well as part of a team;
- Be dedicated to supporting all you come across;
- Have good ICT technical skills (ideally Google suite, Microsoft and MIS);
- Have a sense of humour!
A typical week would be 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am - 4pm Friday. Lunch is half an hour. Attendance of governor meetings, typically nine a year and typically for a couple of hours after 5pm, is required and time is given off in lieu for these. There is flexibility for mutually compatible working hours to fit existing commitments. The anticipated start date for this post is 5 September 2022, although possibly before.
Interested? Then we would love to hear from you. Please feel free to call us if you would like to find out more about the post, including how a typical week could be structured, on 01237 474365 and ask for the headteacher, Annemarie or Michelle or email email@example.com.
We very much look forward to hearing from you, either by telephone or by receiving your application form.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
