Following internal promotion, we are looking to appoint a new Senior Accountant to join our regional team in Plymouth supporting the full range of accounting functions across the four Plymouth Schools. This is an important role within our team, with a strong focus on building effective working relationships to ensure we achieve best value and excellent partnership working. The position is based at Marine Academy Plymouth, but will involve some travel and work from other Trust Schools in the Plymouth locality.

Ideally, the post-holder will be a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians, or hold an equivalent qualification / have significant relevant experience. You will be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, with meticulous attention to detail. You will have experience of using finance systems and demonstrate your ability to analyse financial data. The post-holder should have a flexible and forward-thinking approach to problem solving. You will also have excellent time management and organisational skills, work well as part of a service orientated team and be decisive, solutions-focused with the ability to prioritise.

The role is varied and the successful applicant will need to demonstrate an ability to work in a flexible and supportive manner as part of the Trust’s finance community.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• AAT / Part Qualification (Level 4) or be qualified by experience;
• Demonstrable accounting experience;
• An ability to set priorities and manage workloads effectively;
• Analytical skills;
• Excellent written, verbal and listening skills;
• Intermediate to Advanced IT skills;
• An effective team player mentality.
