The role of Business Manager at our school offers a fantastic opportunity for either an existing Business Manager or someone looking to take the next step in their career. As a member of the Senior Leadership team, the Business Manager will provide overall strategic leadership and management at an academy level regarding all aspects of Finance, HR, Health and Safety, Cleaning and Caretaking, Administration and Operations support. The school benefits from being part of the Tarka Learning Partnership and you will be joining a highly innovative, inspirational and ambitious organisation working for local children in North Devon. The trust guarantees every member of staff high quality CPD opportunities and a high degree of support and collaboration. As a Business Manager, you will also receive strategic support, direction and development from the trust’s CFO, HR and Estates Leads and work as part of a strong network of other Business Managers and Senior Administrators across the local region and the trust.

You will be leading a supportive and friendly team who all contribute towards making Newport a great school for our children. We are looking for someone who will be ambitious for themselves and for the children in our school, who is passionate about their role, and who brings wisdom, experience and dedication.  The successful candidate should have experience as a School Business Manager or have significant experience within high-level school administration and finance, ideally within an academy.

You will have strong communication skills and be able to think on a strategic whole-school level. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and proactive individual to fulfil the role within the school leadership team, working in partnership with the Headteacher and the trust. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent financial, literacy, and IT skills, and have the ability to lead a team effectively.
