Bowhill Primary School is a large, popular school situated out the outskirts of Exeter. We are seeking to appoint two SEND teaching assistants starting in September 2022 for 15 hours a week, (mornings based) to be part of our teaching team who can help us achieve our ambition of ‘caring for our future together’. 

We are looking to find staff who will work closely with our teachers to get to know our children, giving energy and commitment to each child to help them reach their full potential. We expect our staff to be able to calm and nurture children, provide positive behaviour management and be able to support their social and emotional needs. We are an inclusive school and our children are at the heart of everything we do 

The posts are fixed term for a year based on SEND funding at NJC Grade C for 39 weeks per year. The role would suit someone with experience of working with children with additional needs supporting within our early years, either at an individual level or within the classroom environment. You will work as part of a team, under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo to ensure all children are receiving the best possible education to reach their full potential.   

Our new teaching assistants need to: 
-  Have an awareness of a child’s development with the early years 
- Be able to support with creative learning that is tailored to meet the needs of an individual from their starting point.     
- Demonstrate a drive for excellence in all aspects of school life 
- Be able to recognise and build on the strengths of all children whilst nurturing their wellbeing.
