SEN 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant - Highweek Community Primary & Nursery School

The post is fixed term due to: Special needs of a pupil.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work alongside our SENDCo and teachers, to promote an alternative child-centred approach to meeting the needs of our pupils who have been identified as having complex needs. You will need to have a positive mindset, combined with resilience and determination to improve outcomes. You will need to be highly organised, pro-active, versatile and resilient. Knowledge and experience of working with pupils with SEND is desirable particularly expertise in supporting pupils diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Condition.
Responsibilities will include providing a bespoke curriculum. This will require preparing provision alongside the teacher and the SENDCo.
You will be flexible, patient, hardworking and committed to maximising learning opportunities for children. Experience of working with medical or emotional needs would be desirable.
We are looking for someone who can inspire children and colleagues and who is willing to ‘go the extra mile’.

Previous experience is an advantage.
You will need to be an energetic, supportive and a positive team player, who has a sense of humour and excellent communication skills with knowledge of SEN. ICT skills are essential and the flexibility to attend twilight training sessions on occasion. A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school will be important. You must be willing to contribute to the continued improvement of our school in its journey from Good to Outstanding.
