Residential Care Worker - Marland Residential School

  • Multiple Locations
  • Multiple Terms
  • £12.66 - £14.26 per hour (plus enhancements)

Marland Residential School is a weekly boarding school for males aged 8-16 with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs. In September 2021, the team here and the care we provide were graded as “outstanding” in all areas by Ofsted. An opportunity has arisen for the ‘right’ person to join our care team. You must have the ability to support young people with complex needs. All our students have Education Health and Care Plans. You will have a genuine desire to work with young people and the ability and skills needed to engage them in social activities, enjoy being in their company and be passionate about enabling them to succeed.

As an RCW, you will be a key member of the whole school staff team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our students. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build positive relationships with students, their families and key professionals. A relevant level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential.

This annualised hour post is full time, term time only (you will not work but be paid during school holidays!) and involves an annual shift pattern of Monday to Thursday evenings and Friday days. It does include two split shifts a week, the occasional sleep-in but does not include any weekends.

Please contact Gareth MacIver, Head of Pastoral Care, for an informal discussion.

Pre-interview visits (evenings preferred) are strongly encouraged and welcomed.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
