This role is for a Graduate who wishes to secure a post in our Procurement Graduate Development Programme. The post is in the Infrastructure Team of the Strategic Procurement Service as part of a successful corporate facilitator delivering a significant programme of procurement/acquisitions, which contributes directly to Devon County Council’s value for money challenge and corporate delivery imperatives
You will be qualified to at least HND or Degree level and ideally have training &/or knowledge &/or experience in one or more of the following - procurement, contract management, law, construction management, or business/project management.
The programme will offer diverse experience in all aspects of the procurement service. A programme of coaching and mentoring will be provided to the successful candidate. In addition, there will be a formal mutually agreed training development programme which will include training to at least a Level 4 qualification with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply. The position holds great progression opportunities within the procurement department containing a progression scheme that includes assessment to allow members of the programme to demonstrate their capabilities and results in a clear route to increased responsibility and a permanent position. This programme has an established track record of graduates progressing to Senior Procurement Officer and manager roles within the Strategic Procurement Service.
You will support a breadth of elements in the procurement delivery plan and contribute a broad range of procurement activity in parallel with developing skills and expertise.
