We are excited to be advertising for a full-time Principal Family and Systemic Psychotherapist (8b) to work in our Managing Mood, Emotions and Relationships Pathway in Exeter.
In addition to the Exeter multi-disciplinary team work, the role will include cross-county responsibilities taking forward the clinical leadership of the pathway, alongside Principal Psychological Therapy colleagues in the other two localities and professional leadership responsibilities for our strong and growing group of Family and Systemic Psychotherapist across CFHD.
We would love to hear from experienced colleagues who can bring advanced level clinical thinking and formulation, skills in supervision and consultation and compassionate leadership to this pathway and service at an exciting time of development.
Main duties of the job
As a Principal Family and Systemic Psychotherapist and Clinical Lead, you will work jointly with Operational and Psychiatry Leads in your Pathway, as well as providing professional leadership and lead contributions to service developments across CFHD. Family and Systemic Psychotherapy is highly regarded in CFHD and we are excited to bring an additional senior colleague into the service.
You will bring advanced clinical skills to offer complex assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation. You will bring strong clinical supervision skills and leadership capabilities that enable you to support colleagues as well as lead strategic development work. You will have proven experience working positively with inter-agency colleagues. You will have a have a vision for high quality clinical services and be able to enhance the skills and practice of those around you.
There will be CPD opportunities specific to your pathway and to further progress your leadership capabilities.
There is a strong and friendly network of Family and Systemic Psychotherapists in CFHD and across Devon, enjoying shared CPD and professional support. We also have excellent links with the University of Exeter who offer a range of systemic courses. We have been an IAPT provider for many years.

Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) comprises an Alliance of NHS organisations working together to improve health outcomes for children and young people in Devon.
CFHD provides integrated care and treatment for children and young people across physical and mental health which are provided by Torbay and South Devon Foundation Trust and Devon Partnership Trust. We are working closely with other organisations and providers to ensure we deliver locality and county-wide based integrated access to all of our services, based on the i-Thrive Framework.
CFHD works closely with our local universities of Plymouth, Exeter & the Peninsula Medical School where we support students in clinical training placements and in addition support our own staff to undertake post graduate training.
Our integrated care and treatment has been developed and refined in partnership with children, young people and their families/carers.
