Clyst Vale is a thriving and vibrant 11- 18 Community College situated in the beautiful countryside five miles from Exeter. Visitors to Clyst Vale usually comment on the friendly, orderly atmosphere, the courtesy of our students, and the purposefulness in lessons. We have clear expectations and systems, but far more important are the excellent working relationships we establish between staff and students, as well as staff and parents.
After 23 years at the helm our Principal is retiring and we are looking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and inspirational leader, to start January 2024, someone with a track-record of impact who can help us to build on our recent successes and lead Clyst Vale through the next stage of our journey towards becoming an outstanding college. Following our best ever results in Summer 2022 and a 'Good' OFSTED rated inspection in December
2023 you will be joining a unique and innovative Academy Trust. Not only are we the only college in Devon to be
accredited with the Rights Respecting School Gold award but we are one of the few remaining Single Academy
Trusts in the area, truly retaining our own values and ethos and the autonomy to choose our own direction.
You must be able to demonstrate:

• Leading Effective change and significant improvement within a secondary school setting.
• Effective leading and motivation of staff and students.
• Ability to establish a positive ethos with an accent on high achievement for all.
• Creativity and vision to lead and inspire.
