Are you a highly organised, proactive, and experienced administrator ready to take on a pivotal role in a dynamic and forward-thinking school? South Molton Community College is seeking a dedicated Personal Assistant to the Principal and Senior Leadership Team to support our continued journey of improvement and innovation.
As the only secondary school serving the vibrant town of South Molton and its surrounding areas, we are proud to be at the heart of our community. Our modern campus, just 30 minutes from the M5 corridor, offers exceptional facilities including a state-of-the-art building and extensive sports grounds.
This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the Principal and SLT, providing high-level administrative and strategic support. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the school’s leadership functions, managing complex diaries, coordinating communications, and supporting key school processes such as policy development, recruitment, staff training, and safeguarding.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the first point of contact for the Principal, managing correspondence, visitors, and diary commitments.
- Supporting whole-school administration including staff CPD records, the Single Central Record, and DBS processing.
- Coordinating internal and external communications, including newsletters and stakeholder engagement.
- Supporting school admissions, events, and recruitment processes.
- Providing backup support for reception, attendance, and cover administration as needed.
We are seeking a confident and capable professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities with discretion and diplomacy.
You will need:
- Proven experience in a senior administrative or PA role, ideally within an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with school systems such as Bromcom and CPOMS (desirable).
- A calm, resilient, and flexible approach, with a high level of emotional intelligence and attention to detail.
