The Safer Lives and Communities Team, which is part of the Council’s Public Health and Communities Directorate, is responsible for leading collaboration and commissioning that adds value and improves wellbeing in relation to a number of complex issues that negatively affect lives and communities across Devon. This work is coordinated through the Safer Devon Partnership which is managed and supported by the Safer Lives and Communities Team.
About the role:
We are looking to appoint, as part of a multi-skilled team of professionals, a full time Partnership, Development and Learning Officer to support and lead, as required, on partnership, development and learning focused on preventing and reducing harm arising from prioritised community safety related issues.
The successful candidate will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to:
- Understand the needs and experiences of victims, including children, to design, (and, as appropriate deliver and evaluate), holistic, flexible and bespoke responses for people affected by interpersonal and gender-based violence and abuse and other complex community safety related issues;
- Support the effective management, development and alignment of strategic and tactical Partnerships under the Safer Devon umbrella;
- Adopt a Public Health and human learning systems approach to developing and delivering multi-agency strategies and plans;
- Lead innovative test and learn pilots and projects to influence system and service change based on data, insights and learning; including from tragic cases where people die because of domestic abuse (Domestic Homicide Reviews); and,
- Integrate insights from Domestic Homicide Reviews into broader service development and systems support for victims.
