The Devon Nursery Plus Team are seeking a confident, passionate and creative Early Years Practitioner to join the Tavistock and West Devon Team based at Tavistock Primary and Nursery School.
Nursery Plus is a targeted service supporting children within the base nursery and in early years settings across Devon, playing a key role in improving outcomes for young children with additional needs. In this role, you will support Early Years settings to develop inclusive, high‑quality practice. You will offer practical ideas, tailored advice, and hands‑on strategies that empower practitioners to meet the diverse needs of the children in their care.
Key responsibilities
- Provide targeted support to Early Years settings to enhance inclusive practice.
- Offer practical advice, modelling, and creative ideas to improve outcomes for children with additional needs.
- Build strong, positive relationships with practitioners, and families.
- Work collaboratively with settings, external agencies, and colleagues to ensure a joined‑up approach.
About you
We are looking for someone who brings a blend of expertise, creativity, and interpersonal skill. You will be:
- Passionate about early childhood development and inclusion.
- Confident in offering advice, modelling strategies, and supporting others.
- Creative, with the ability to generate engaging, practical ideas that support children’s learning and wellbeing.
- Collaborative, able to build trust and work effectively with settings.
- Independent, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own caseload.
This post requires a full and relevant level 3 minimum requirement in childcare related discipline, preferably a level 4 qualification. You will need to drive with your own transport and hold a clean driving licence.
