Nursery Manager - Make Waves Nursery

This position requires experience in managing the day-to-day running of a Nursery.
You will be responsible for financial operations, customer and stakeholder relationships, and ongoing training and development of staff whilst ensuring the nursery is being run to the highest standard in the utmost professional way.
Make Waves is a multifaceted business and you will have much autonomy in the nursery, but will also be part of and have support from our management team reporting to our General Manager.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Childcare and Education qualification, minimum level 3
- Enhanced DBS
- Paediatric First Aid
- Safeguarding minimum level 2
Desired with intent to obtain:
- Maths minimum level 2
- Prevent
- FGM
- LADO
- Food hygiene
- COSHH
- Safer Recruitment
Experience
Essential:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a managerial or supervisory role in the education sector
- A minimum of 1 year working directly with children aged from 3 months to 5 years
- Creating staff rotas and child planners, and making adjustments quickly to ensure ratios are maintained
Desired Experience:
- liaising with relative agencies and families regarding safeguarding
- Involvement in Ofsted inspections
- Experience liaising with relative agencies and families regarding SEND
- Experience liaising with relative agencies and families regarding funding

Knowledge
- A sound knowledge of birth to five matters framework
- Knowledge of nursery software eg. Tapestry
- A good grasp of Ofsted requirements
- Solid understanding of various funding that children may receive and how it can be implemented
- Ability to commute/relocate: Bideford: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Ideal start date - July 2025, but can be flexible
