Nursery Manager - Make Waves Nursery

We are recruiting for a passionate and dedicated full time Nursery Manager at Make Waves Swim School.
Make Waves Nursery is a new enterprise within the established Make Waves brand. You will have the opportunity to liaise with the Directors to set up the physical environment, day to day structure, policies and procedures etc. This is a wonderful opportunity to make this your own while incorporating the Make Waves ethos.
This position requires previous experience in managing the day-to-day running of a Nursery.
You will be responsible for all financial operations, ongoing training and development of staff whilst ensuring the nursery is being run to the highest standard in the utmost professional way.
Qualifications and experience:
- A Childcare and Education qualification equivalent to NVQ level 3
- A higher-level qualification in Early Years Childcare and Education/Childhood Studies
- A current First Aid qualification
- A sound knowledge of childcare development from birth to five years
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role in the delivery of services to young children
Experience:
- Nursery: 1 year (preferred)
- Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
- Management: 1 year (preferred)
Desired attributes / job role:
- To organise and maintain all resources, equipment and consumables to a high standard, including ordering equipment and maintaining consumable stock levels
- Ensuring that the Nursery is clean, safe and a welcoming environment
- Managing the Nursery consumables/equipment budget to include submission of an annual budget bid and ongoing monitoring of expenditure
- To contribute to the strategic planning, monitoring, evaluation and development of the Nursery
- To be responsible for high standards of care ensuring the Nursery is compliant with EYFS regulations
- To be responsible for maintaining registers, staffing ratios, organising staff rotas and breaks
- To organise cover in the case of staff absence, annual leave and sickness absence
- To be responsible for Health and Safety in Nursery including writing risk assessments and making daily checks
- To liaise with the directors regarding maintenance requirements
- To manage, develop and support Nursery staff
- Administering first aid, when required, and maintaining appropriate records of first aid given
- To identify staff training needs and facilitate training opportunities
- To take responsibility for policies and procedures including safeguarding and health and safety are fully implemented.
This is a permanent full time position, all year round, with paid annual leave and pension. Hours will include evening and weekends.
