Do you have a track record of working in the landscape, land management, nature conservation or climate sectors? Do you have experience of partnership working, relationship building, project management, staff and volunteer supervision? Are you ready to use your experience to conserve and enhance the North Devon Coast National Landscape? We are looking for an experienced, committed and enthusiastic person to work with key partners, land managers and communities to shape the future of the North Devon Coast National Landscape, a designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
As a key member of a small, multi-disciplinary team, you will be providing advice on and influencing management of the National Landscape, raising community and landowner awareness, and delivering improvement projects with partners and stakeholders to realise Landscape, Land Management, Nature and Climate outcomes.
You will need a working knowledge of landscape and wildlife designations, as well as the policy context for land management, planning and/or access to provide advice and guidance to the Partnership and staff team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to realise the National Landscapes ability to convene, to catalyse, to facilitate, to influence and to deliver.
The North Devon Coast National Landscape is one of 34 nationally designated landscapes in England that together with National Parks form the protected landscapes network that covers around 26% of England. Protected Landscapes are increasingly involved in delivering on national priorities to enhance landscape, recover nature, build climate resilience and improve public access to the coast and countryside.
The post is mainly office based with some home working and the post-holder should also be able to make frequent site visits across the whole North Devon coastline, travel to meetings within Devon and attend events outside of normal office hours.
