A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a non-class based PE Lead Teacher at St Leonard's C of E Primary School (Roll 605) to start in January 2023. The role is to cover class teacher’s PPA time and develop excellence in PE across the school.

Due to the promotion of the current post-holder, we are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who is dedicated to promoting and raising the standards of PE. If you are passionate about providing a range of sporting opportunities and motivating children to develop lifelong positive habits, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities for the role are:
• Lead the school’s PE curriculum;
• Teach PE to the highest standard across all primary age groups;
• Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in PE ensuring equality of opportunity for all;
• Lead the organisation and management of the school’s after school clubs offer (that run from 3pm - 4pm) and deliver three sports clubs a week;
• Organise and manage all school sports competitions and tournaments, including any administration required;
• Support the Headteacher with managing the Sports Premium budget;
• Maintain the school’s recent Platinum Sports Award;
• Prepare and deliver Sports Days in the Summer Term for all pupils;
• Order, maintain and organise all sports equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition;
• Deliver staff training as PE Lead.

The interview will take place at St Leonard’s C of E Primary School, Exeter, and comprise of a number of tasks, including teaching a PE lesson on the day to a class of children at our school.
